Merrick J. Wetzler, MD, ABOS, FAAOS, attended Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine in Philadelphia, CA, and received his medical degree in 1986. Then, he served his orthopedic residency at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. Furthermore, he conducted his fellowships in sports medicine at Thomas Jefferson University Medical Center, the Rothman Orthopedic Institute, and the Lankenau Hospital and Medical Research Center in Philadelphia, PA. In addition, Dr. Wetzler received board certification in orthopedic surgery from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. And, he remains at the forefront of his challenging specialty via memberships and affiliations with prestigious professional societies and associations. As a result, he is a member of the United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Society, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Camden County Medical Society, and the New Jersey Medical Society. Moreover, he attained fellowship of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, having met the standards and guidelines required of the nation’s leading orthopedic surgeons. In addition to his medical degree, he holds a BA degree in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry acquired at Yale University (1982), where he was an All-Ivy League wrestler and won a gold medal at the Maccabiah Games.
